What will I get out of this program?
This qualification reflects the role of a person in the telecommunications industry who can apply a broad range of competencies in a varied work context of installation of telecommunications and data cabling products on customer premises.
Cabling at the customer premises must be carried out according to requirements of the Australian Communications and Media Authority (ACMA) relevant industry registration bodies, and in line with the specification of the access network owner.

The qualification prepares the participant for entry into the Telecommunications Cabling Industry.

- Telecommunications Access Network Cabler

Do I need to have prior knowledge or work experience?
Completion of Year 10 or equivalent is recommended. Participants must be employed as a trainee and must have signed a Registered Training Contract to be eligible to undertake training in this program or through an employer preferred training arrangement.
What can I study after this?
After completion of this qualification, participants may undertake the Certificate III in Telecommunications Cabling which will enable the participant to develop more specialised technical skills and knowledge.
Study Option: NBN Saftey & Awareness Course
This course is an introduction to both the NBN and Health, Safety and Environment (HSE), and has been mapped to three national units of competency:
• Follow occupational health and safety and environmental policy and procedures (ICTOHS2170A), and
• Work safely in the construction industry (CPCCOHS1001A), and
• Perform CPR (HLTCPR201A).
These competencies form part of ICT20310 - Certificate II in Telecommunications.

How do I enrol?
This program is currently not open for direct enrolment and we are accepting Expression of Interest for our next intake. Please contact our Client Service Centre on 1800 654 447 or visit one of our Training Centres to register your interest in enrolling.

Three weeks.
How much time will I commit?
Wednesday evenings from 6.00pm - 9.00pm in V Block.
How much will it cost?
Full fee of approximately $411.
This is a Fee for Service program, therefore no concessions are available. There are no refunds provided after enrolment for this program unless requested prior to the commencement of the program.

On completion of the training, participants will be able to:
• Briefly explain the purpose and scope of the National Broadband Network (NBN)
• Identify how their role fits into the bigger picture in the construction and operations of the NBN
• Identify and assess potential workplace hazards while working on the NBN
• Apply hazard control methods
• Identify safety requirements when working with optical fibre and equipment
• Report Health, Safety & Environmental (HSE) incidents and hazards
• Identify environmental issues
• Perform Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR).

Do you have industry experience you would like to recognise?
Prior to enrolment we are able to assess your skills via Credit Transfers or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
If you have completed an accredited program through another training provider you may be eligible to receive a Credit Transfer.
If you have relevant industry experience you may be eligible to receive Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
