What will I get out of this program?

Draw your skills for technical engineering from TAFE Queensland SkillsTech. This program will provide you with the skills and knowledge required for design and drafting. You’ll learn about computer-aided design (CAD) and drafting; inspection; quality control; supplier evaluation; laboratory nondestructive testing; technical purchasing; and design and development work (prototypes) in product and process areas.

What job opportunities will I have?

Upon successful completion participants will be able to work as an Engineering Technician.

Do I need to have prior knowledge or work experience?

Participants must be employed as a trainee and have signed a Registered Training Contract.

How do I enrol?

This program is an apprenticeship/traineeship. You must be employed as an apprentice or trainee, and must have signed a Registered Training Contract to be eligible to undertake training in this program. School based apprenticeships may also be available.

When can I start?

You may enrol and commence study at any time through the year.

How long will it take?

One year Part Time.

How much time will I commit?

Approximately 4 hours per week.

How much will it cost?

TAFE Queensland SkillsTech charge an additional annual General Utility Fee of $40 per calendar year to be paid at time of enrolment.

This is a government funded program and concessions may be available for eligible students at the time of enrolment. Refunds will be provided where an apprentice has been enrolled into training but does not attend. Credit may remain on the system if students are continuing with training.

Fees are subject to change at any time without prior notice. Please check at the time of enrolment for confirmed fees.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

Do you have industry experience you would like to recognise?
Prior to enrolment we are able to assess your skills via Credit Transfers or Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
If you have completed an accredited program through another training provider you may be eligible to receive a Credit Transfer.
If you have relevant industry experience you may be eligible to receive Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL).
